3-Function Ward Bed

Manual Hospital Bed
Reliable 3-function manual hospital ward bed with crank-operated backrest, knee-rest and height adjustment on a powder-coated steel frame.

Overview

The 3-Function Ward Bed is a durable hospital bed designed for general ward care, patient recovery, nursing support, and routine clinical treatment. Its adjustable design helps healthcare professionals position patients comfortably while providing better access for examinations, nursing procedures, transfers, and daily care.

The bed offers three essential positioning functions: backrest adjustment, leg-section adjustment, and Trendelenburg positioning. These functions help support patient comfort, post-operative recovery, mobility assistance, and selected clinical positioning requirements.

With collapsible side rails, a stable metal frame, a perforated mattress platform, lockable castors, and drainage-bag hooks, the bed is suitable for hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities.

Treatment Indications

General patient care
The bed supports routine nursing care, patient observation, medication administration, feeding, hygiene care, and clinical examination.

Post-operative recovery
The adjustable backrest and leg section can help patients find a supported position after surgery. Staff can adjust the bed to improve access to the patient and assist with early mobility.

Respiratory comfort
A raised backrest may provide a more upright position for selected patients. Positioning must be determined according to the patient’s medical condition and clinical instructions.

Lower-limb support
The adjustable leg section can support the lower limbs during rest, recovery, and selected rehabilitation activities. Staff should monitor comfort, circulation, swelling, and pain.

Patient transfers
The bed’s height and position should be coordinated with transfer equipment and the receiving surface. Castors must be locked before the patient is moved into or out of the bed.

Drainage and catheter management
The bilateral drainage-bag hooks provide a convenient location for securing drainage bags. Tubing should be checked regularly to prevent kinking, pulling, or accidental disconnection.

Positioning support
The Trendelenburg function may be used for selected clinical purposes when prescribed. It must not be used routinely without appropriate patient assessment and supervision.

Clinical Protocols

Evidence-based treatment guidance

Recommended starting parameters by indication. Final protocols should be set by the treating clinician.

General ward care
Adjust the backrest and leg section according to the patient’s activity and comfort. Keep the bed at a safe height when unattended.
Reduced mobility
Use the bed with appropriate transfer aids and staff support. Lock the castors before every transfer.
Orthopaedic recovery
Follow the orthopaedic treatment plan and avoid movements that increase pain or place stress on healing structures.
Neurological weakness
Assess balance, muscle control, cognition, and transfer ability before changing the bed position.
Lower-limb swelling
Elevate the leg section only when clinically appropriate. Monitor circulation, skin colour, sensation, swelling, and pain.
