Electromagnetic focused shockwave (ESWT) system by Chattanooga delivering high-energy focused waves up to ~12 cm depth with a large focal zone. For deep target areas, calcifications and trigger points. MDD Class IIa.
Overview
In Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), a wave produced by a small underwater explosion inside an applicator is focused through a lens and transmitted into the tissue. The focused shockwave is electromagnetically generated and carries high energy — around one hundred times more powerful than a radial pressure wave — making it optimum for a range of conditions in urology, orthopaedics, cardiology and neurology. Deep therapy regions can be treated safely and reliably, with a large focal zone providing enhanced targeting precision.
Focused shock waves are preferably used to treat deep target areas, penetrating approximately 12 cm with pin-point focus, and make it easier to find deeper, diffuse trigger points than with palpation. Beyond targeted pain relief, the therapy activates the healing cascade, enhances blood flow and promotes tissue regeneration — useful for bone healing, tendinopathies, trigger points / myofascial pain, dermatology, wound healing, spasticity and erectile dysfunction.
